Every year SKI Magazine releases their ski resort Annual Rankings. SKI Magazine ranks the resorts using reader feedback based on a variety of categories such as terrain variety, slope grooming, dining, etc. All three Park City ski resorts ranked quite well again, but did slip a few spots from the previous year. Most of the other northern Utah ski resorts can also be found in the list below. We would highly expect to see big changes in the rankings, possibly not for next year, but for sure the year after as we see the merging of Park City Ski Resort and Canyons Resort, both now operated by Vail Resorts. It's Official. Vail has bought Park City Ski Resort from Powder Corp.

Its been a turbulent couple of years with the height of uncertainty and litigation reaching boiling points very recently. Last week we all held our breath as the courts decided it would take a $17.5 million bond posted by Powder Corp. to remain on the disputed resort property and stay open for the upcoming 2014/2015 ski season. Vail had asked for roughly $123 million and Powder Corp asked for the bond to be between $1 and $6 million. Early this week we received news that Powder Corp has decide to post the bond, which meant Park City Mountain Resort would in fact be open this year, and would need to again post another $19 million bond if they decided to also be open for the next…

Park City's Historic Main Street will be the start and finish site for the challenging and final Stage 7 of the Tour of Utah on Sunday, August 10, featuring some of the steepest climbs and fastest descents in pro cycling.

For the fourth year in a row, Park City will be the site of the start and finish for the final stage of the prestigious Tour of Utah bike race.

The Tour of Utah is considered the longest professional cycling stage race in North America. This year’s race will cover 753.8 miles with 57,863 feet of vertical gain during the seven days of racing. Teams of 16 riders will be tested during this race.

Each year, the Park City Kimball Arts Center hosts its biggest fundraiser — the Kimball Arts Festival. This festival is a great way to spend a weekend in lovely Park City, enjoying activities, sights, and sounds that are sure to please your senses. This year’s event will be held August 1 through 3 at locations along Park City’s historic Main Street.

The Kimball Arts Festival is a juried event that attracts artists from around the country. The 2014 festival experienced the highest number of applications ever with more than 900 artist applications — with more than 200 being selected.

Park City 4th of July Parade & Celebration

Parkites love their 4th of July holiday. It a full day of fun events and a great way to get out and meet many other visitors and connect with locals. Most events are in-town. You can start with the popular pancake breakfast (unless you’re doing the 5k run!) and then head up to Park City's Historic Main Street for our annual 4th of July Parade and a full day of activities in City Park, including live music, rugby games, beer gardens and vendors followed by fireworks at dusk. There really is no better place to spend your July 4th holiday than right here in Park City, Utah.

On Sunday, May 4th, the historic and highly recognized Rio Grande building was moved to its new, temporary location a few blocks down Park Avenue. The historic building is part of the upcoming 820 Park Avenue real estate development that will consist of 10 luxury residences and 4 commercial spaces.

The building was lifted, and secured to a large flat bed prior to Sunday's move. The building was then pulled down Park Avenue to its temporary location, a vacant lot at the 14th block on Park Avenue. Sunday was chosen because of the ability to easily close down the street for the move, which only took about a half hour.
