Mayflower Mountain Resort rendering

Could Park City actually have two new ski resort villages in the works? Last week, there was much discussion about significant plans for both the Mayflower/Jordanelle side of Deer Valley and the Snow Park base area.

As we have recently reported, the Jordanelle area is booming. And it’s more than just real estate development. Last week, New York City-based developer Extell Development Company announced it will build the first major, full-service ski resort in America since 1980. Located adjacent to Deer Valley Resort on the Jordanelle side, Mayflower Mountain Resort may be operating as soon as the 2021 ski season.

Pink Park City

Pink Park City is the one day of the year for people to come together to ski or snowboard for a cause that hits home for most. The first pink day was held in Vail in 2012 as an event to support breast cancer but has since grown to support all types of cancer research. This cancer-fighting experience brings the community together in celebration and support of the Huntsman Cancer Institute in Salt Lake City. Participants register and solicit donations on their own personal fundraising page, with 100% of the donations go to fund cancer research.

The event includes a day of skiing, live music, food and activities at Park City Mountain. Tons of swag will be handed out in giveaways and drawings. There will be deck parties at four Park City Mountain

Park City Resort

Park City resort is scheduled to open on Wednesday, November 21st, the day before Thanksgiving. At the Canyon side of the mountain, many complaints have revolved around the slow speed of the fixed chair for High Meadow – a popular beginner's area for that side of the resort. The other common complaint has been that the hillside for that run was comprised of a steeper slope for the beginning, and then just a bit too flat further down. Not the best ski run for learning. They have replaced this lift, and now it only
