Thanksgiving in Park City

Thanksgiving in Park City signals the beginning of the ski season. Unlike many parts of the country, we can actually hit the slopes before we celebrate being thankful for the mountain paradise we get to call home. Park City Mountain will open for the season the day before, on November 21. What a fun way to earn a big meal!

We all know preparing a Thanksgiving feast is a lot of work, to put it mildly. There is the planning, the shopping, the prepping, the cooking, and then the eating. But it doesn’t stop there as the clean up awaits. Why not let someone else do all that this year?  And you can skip to the pleasurable part...eating! With several Park City restaurants hosting a stress-free feast this year, you are sure to find a festive eatery that will please your palate and budget.

Glitretind Restaurant at Stein Ericksen Lodge

What could be more ‘feasting’ than a Thanksgiving buffet? The beautiful, European-style dining room at Deer Valley’s world-renowned Stein Ericksen will set the stage for abundant culinary selections, including choices of soups like pumpkin apple, appetizers like bacon and oyster deviled eggs and, of course, a carving station with turkey and all the fixings. If turkey is not your jam, there are several other options, like juniper & sage crusted buffalo ribeye or Ora king salmon. This is often a sell out, so plan ahead or add your party to the waitlist.

$79 adults, $25 children 5-12

Butcher’s Chop House & Bar

A favorite steak house on Park Ave. in Old Town, Butcher’s Thanksgiving menu features turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing, candied yams and garlic green beans for the two-course “Full Platter” prix fixe. Enjoy a choice of pecan or pumpkin pie for dessert. Their full menu will also be available for those who prefer other options.

Prix fixe - $35, adults, $18 children

No Name Saloon

For the past 18 years, this Historic Main Street establishment has been offering a free buffet with all the traditional Thanksgiving goods. The generous No Name Saloon owners recognize that many of the resort town residents are “orphans” during the holidays with no family nearby. What a great way to show their appreciation to customers! Come one, come all, but you must be 21 or older.

Feasting begins at 2 pm. FREE

The Brass Tag at Deer Valley Resort

Riverhorse Provisions

Offering a convenient and tasty option for those who prefer to eat at home without all the shopping and cooking, Riverhorse Provisions is preparing a carry-out dinner in oven-ready containers.
