It wasn't too long ago when Labor Day weekend signaled the true end of summer in Park City with the Miners’ Day celebrations being the last real event until the ski season. In recent years, our mountain resort town has evolved into a year-round mecca for activities and events. We are seeing the shortening of the fall shoulder season with the Park Silly Sunday Market continuing into summer and a host of new offerings to keep locals and visitors entertained. The weekend of September 13 is shaping up to be no exception with the annual Autumn Aloft hot air balloon festival and the inaugural Park City Songwriter Festival. The hills will come alive with music, vibrant balloons, and splendid fall colors.
While all good things come to an end, luckily here in Park City, we say goodbye to summer with a bang. Every year, the Park City community celebrates its mining heritage that began over 100 years ago. Miners’ Day is a festive opportunity to come together with friends and family and enjoy some food, fun, and sunshine. Here’s what you can look forward to on September 2nd!
Start your Miners’ Day with a free hearty breakfast in City Park, graciously provided by Saint Mary’s Catholic Church. Fill up on pancakes, eggs, hash browns and more! Breakfast will be served from 7:30 am to 9:30 am.
For those who enjoy a cardio kick, the Miners’ Day Bark City 5k begins at 8 am with registration opening at 7 am. The annual 5k donates 100% of proceeds to local
Could Park City actually have two new ski resort villages in the works? Last week, there was much discussion about significant plans for both the Mayflower/Jordanelle side of Deer Valley and the Snow Park base area.
As we have recently reported, the Jordanelle area is booming. And it’s more than just real estate development. Last week, New York City-based developer Extell Development Company announced it will build the first major, full-service ski resort in America since 1980. Located adjacent to Deer Valley Resort on the Jordanelle side, Mayflower Mountain Resort may be operating as soon as the 2021 ski season.
Mayflower Mountain Resort is an ambitious plan to develop 5,600 acres that are just west of U.S. 40 and Jordanelle Reservoir.
There is something about suds, sounds, and scenery that pair so perfectly well together. Summer may be slipping away, but there are still festive events to celebrate Utah’s impressive brewery scene, live music, and stunning surroundings. Whether you want to stay in the Park City area or venture a bit further out, we have highlighted a few series of events that are summertime favorites.
Oktoberfest aT Canyons Village
Over Labor Day weekend, Canyons Village at Park City Mountain will transform itself into a mini-Munich to celebrate Oktoberfest, the German festival that is now a worldwide phenomenon celebrating Bavarian culture. The family-friendly event will kick off Friday with the official opening ceremonies, followed by a weekend full of
Water and mountain views are a rare combination in the high mountain desert of Park City, so it’s no wonder luxury home communities are becoming highly coveted in the Jordanelle Reservoir area. Proximity to Park City coupled with dramatic views of the expansive body of water, Deer Valley ski slopes and Mount Timpanogos make this Wasatch County region a hit among homebuyers. New communities have been popping up in the past decade that appeal to both second homeowners and primary residents. The robust 40-year development plan for the Mayflower side of Deer Valley will establish a top tier ski resort base area to which all of these communities will enjoy easy access.
SkyRidge, located on the northwest shore of the Jordanelle Reservoir, is one of these
Owning a vacation home can be one of life’s greatest pleasures, especially in a year-round resort paradise like Park City, Utah. It can also require a considerable amount of maintenance and expense, which not everyone has the time or desire to manage. This is precisely why the private residence club concept was created. It’s a form of fractional ownership that rewards owners with the joys of a second home in a luxurious, carefree manner. On the outskirts of Park City, those who love the mountain lifestyle can enjoy private residence club living at Victory Ranch, a luxurious private community in Kamas, Utah. The Residence Club at Victory Ranch features 16 modern mountain cabins along a pristine, private stretch of the Provo River. The cabins also take

If you’re looking for fabulously fun and local Park City events to spend your Hump Day and Sunday Funday, get your fill with the Park City Farmer’s Market on Wednesdays and the Park Silly Sunday Market.
Held seasonally in the Canyons Village parking lot at Park City Mountain, the Park City Farmer’s Market attracts locals and visitors seeking fresh produce from Utah farmers as well as some artisan crafts. Don’t just shop, but enjoy the chance to interact with the vendors who can tell you about their farms and how they grow their amazing products. You’ll even see chefs from local restaurants shopping for their menus. More than fruits and veggies, you can expect to find locally made breads, salsas, dips, baked sweets, and more. If you’re hosting a
It seems like it wasn’t too long ago when Main Street was home to the only options for dining out in Park City. Times sure have changed! An abundance of new eateries has opened in recent years in other parts of the Park City area and in nearby communities like Heber City and Midway. These culinary gems are a hit for locals who seek a fun evening or lunch out while avoiding the Main Street crowds. Some offer outdoor seating which is also appealing given Park City’s spectacular summer weather. The best things come in threes, so here are three of our new favorite dining venues off Main Street. They have the added bonus of ample, complimentary parking.
