Nordic skiing with White Pine Touring

With sunny, bluebird skies and countless ski beaches along the snow-covered slopes, spring break in Park City is the perfect getaway. Daylight savings is upon us and we are already enjoying longer days to squeeze in even more outdoor adventure. While most spring breakers are coming to enjoy the famed slopes of Deer Valley Resort at Park City Mountain, there are plenty of alternative ways to enjoy the snow. Bring your boots and affinity for the mountains to make the most of what remains of the ski season – there is more snow in the forecast!

Cross Country Skiing

Park City has been a paradise for cross country skiers for decades. With plenty of snow still on the trails, this aerobic activity is an ideal addition to your spring break plans. Combine the benefits of exercising outdoors with the breathtaking views of the Wasatch and Uinta Mountains. From Basin Recreation to White Pine Nordic Center to Round Valley, there is no shortage of trails for cross country skiers of all skill levels. So gather your own gear or rent from White Pine Touring’s shop at Hotel Park City where you can ski out the door! We recommend bringing wind-proof winter gear, hat and gloves, moisture-wicking wool socks, and high-quality sunglasses to minimize the glare and protect your eyes.

Mountain Trails Foundation offers miles of groomed trails for Park City’s cross country skiers. Their website and Facebook page are great resources for the latest conditions and grooming report.

Snowshoe in the Uintas

With an average of 350 inches of snowfall a year and plenty of sunshine, Park City is the perfect setting for a spring break snowshoe adventure! This past time is a favorite for locals and allows you to explore the mountains while getting a great dose of exercise. The Uinta Mountains, the highest mountain range in the Continental U.S. that spans east to west, offer a perfectly pristine backcountry playground for snowshoeing. Take in expansive vistas and nature’s beauty at a leisurely or aerobic pace based on your preference.

All Seasons Adventures hosts guided snowshoe tours that cater to groups of all sizes. Visit their website to learn how to make a tour part of your spring break plans!
