Winter Fun in Park City for Non-Skiers

Utah has become known worldwide for its Greatest Snow on Earth. And there are many exciting ways to take advantage of the snowfall this winter for those who are not skiers or snowboarders. Choose from several activities around Park City that will entice you to bundle up and enjoy the outdoors. There is also plenty of indoor fun to be had. Park City is a destination that has something for everyone. Whether there is a non-skier in your family or your entire group is looking for a fun day off the slopes, the options are plentiful.



Kids over three and the young at heart enjoy the thrills of tubing at Soldier Hollow Nordic Center. Soldier Hollow has the longest tubing lanes in Utah at 1,200 feet in length. The new conveyor lift system makes the return faster and allows for more time tubing without wearing yourself out. Night tubing, complete with a booming sound system, is also offered under the lights.

If you find yourself considering luxury Park City real estate offerings, Promontory has a private tubing hill with four lanes. It’s one of many family-friendly amenities at this private vacation home community on the outskirts of Park City.


Trekking through the snow-covered backcountry is not only a great way to explore, but provides a great workout! Enjoy a deep powder, thigh-burning workout on any number of them, or check out the groomed trails in Round Valley where you will rub elbows with cross country skiers.

Park City Mountain also offers an outdoor ice-skating rink located in the lower plaza of the base area for more family fun. This classic winter activity is sure to entertain both the young and young at heart. Complimentary skate walkers are available for those newbies who may need a bit more stability on the ice. The entire ice-skating plaza has been renovated for this season and includes a new skate house, holiday lighting, and outdoor furniture.

High West Distillery Tour in Wanship

Those seeking an outing for adults only, won’t want to miss the opportunity to tour High West Distillery at Wanship’s picturesque Blue Sky Ranch, just East of Park City. High West Distillery is Utah’s first legal distillery since 1870 and offers several types of whiskey, bourbons and vodkas. Free tours are offered Wednesday through Sunday at various times (check website for details). Discover how their whiskey blends are created, and try a taste or two.
