Utah Tops Forbes "Best State for Business and Careers" Again!

For the 2nd year in a row, Utah Tops Forbes list for "Best State for Business and Careers". This was their sixth annual look at the business climate of the 50 US States. Utah was the only state to rank among the top 15 states in each of the six main categories they rate states on. No one can match Utah's consistent performance.

They talked about Utah's highlights of energy costs at 31% below the national average, and employment growth that has averaged 0.6% the last five years, vs the national average of negative 0.6%.

Businesses are taking notice. Proctor & Gamble, ITT, Home Depot, and Boeing all announced expansions in Utah. The Goldman Sachs office in Salt lake City is the second largest in America, with more expansion planned over the next 4 years. Tech companies love Utah's overall business costs at 10% below the national average. Adobe Systems, eBay, Electronic Arts and Oracle have all expanded in Utah in recent years. And the article states that job growth in Utah is expected to increase by 2.4% annually through 2015.

We all knew Utah has the "Greatest Snow on Earth", but Utah is also a great place to work, and a great place to build business. Park City is only about 25 minutes from Salt Lake City and offers the ideal location, and surroundings to raise a family, and own a home where outdoor recreation is second to none. Maybe more people will become lucky enough to make their Park City vacation home, or second home into their primary home. For those who have not been here yet, I recommend that you and your family take a trip here to ski this winter and see what the talk is all about. You will not be disappointed!
