Ring in the New Decade in Park City

At the end of every year, we reflect on our past while looking to the future. It’s hard to believe we’ve reached the end of not only another year, but another decade! When we reflect back on the past ten years in Park City, it is remarkable how much our mountain town has changed. There are new ski resort owners (Vail Resorts and Alterra), the Canyons and Park City Mountain Resort interconnected to become the country’s largest ski area, and we have seen an astonishing array of new luxury real estate developments – including our new projects Goldener Hirsch Residences and Empire Pass Residences. Even a new ski area – Mayflower Mountain Resort, is being planned adjacent to Deer Valley overlooking the Jordanelle Reservoir. The number of winter and summer visitors continues to grow each year, as do the number of second homeowners. We have been privileged to help many discerning clients find incredible dream homes over the past decade and are looking forward to what the next decade has in store for our mountain paradise.

Whether you like watching the ball drop from the comfort of your own living room or watching live fireworks with champagne in hand, New Year’s celebrations in Park City have something for everyone. In addition to our incredible ski resorts and unbeatable views, our town hosts holiday festivities in abundance. From live music to decadent dining, you won’t find another town that rings in the New Year like Park City!

From morning to midnight, there are plenty of ways to enjoy the remainder of 2019. Here’s what we recommend for the last day of the decade.

Donuts in the Village
Park City Mountain Village, Canyons Village, Town Lift Plaza
8:45 a.m.

Start your day with Donuts in the Village, sponsored by Snowfest!  Enjoy crisp morning air, a hot cup of coffee, and a fresh donut to energize your morning. Stationed by either Park City Mountain Village, Canyons Village, or Town Lift Plaza, delicious donuts will fuel or morning.

Ice Skating at Resort Center

Put on your skates and partake in this classic wintertime activity. The rink resides at the base of Park City Mountain and is surrounded by ambient Christmas lights, mountainous backdrops, and hosts shopping and live music nearby. You can bring your own skates or rent a pair from the rink. Warm beverages are available as well as complimentary skate walkers for children. Stay as long as you like - no limit on skate time!

New Year’s Eve Celebration
Park City Mountain
3:30 – 9:00 p.m.

Welcome to your free, one stop shop for New Year’s celebrations. Join the party at Canyons Village for food, drinks, music, treats, and fireworks in the evening! Live music at the Village Stage will be provided by local acts The Cover Dogs and DJ Velvet. Enjoy s’mores and hot cocoa while strolling through Canyons Village and taking in the scenery. The Avalanche Dogs, the ski rescue pups, will be available for pictures and pets, too! Bundle up for the fireworks, which begin approximately at 7:30 p.m.

If you’re interested in viewing just the fireworks, come to Canyons Village before 7:30 p.m. for the colorful display. The grand spectacle is a longtime Park City tradition and for good reason. The show draws thousands of eyes to the sky and this year will be no different. Come early for winter snacks and hot cocoa to stay warm.

The 5th Dimension Concert
The Egyptian Theatre
8:00 p.m.

Add some soul to your schedule and come to the Egyptian Theatre for a live 5th Dimension concert! The legendary group will bring their world renowned sound to Park City on New Year’s Eve. From Broadway to jazz to soul music, experience 5th Dimension music like never before in the historic Egyptian Theatre. Grab a bite to eat beforehand at one of the many Main Street eateries and dive into a night a song, soul, and celebration. Buy your tickets here!

Roaring 20’s New Year’s Eve Party
O.P Rockwell
8:00 p.m.

Don your best Gatsby-esque attire for the Roaring 20’s New Year’s Eve Party, hosted by O.P Rockwell at the top of Main Street. Return to another era filled with dancing, music, and drinks. This celebration features classic swing tunes provided by Gold Standard. TTickets are available for purchase here.

New Year’s Eve Bash
The Spur Bar and Grill
Music begins at 10:00 p.m.

Raise a glass to 2020 at The Spur Bar and Grill! This Main Street venue will feature live, energetic music provided by Rage Against the Supremes, a cover band that is a local favorite. Expect to hear everything from Madonna to Nirvana!
