New Construction Developments at Deer Valley and Canyons Village

These are exciting times to be in Deer Valley and Park City, Utah. Deer Valley Resort® has been a long time top ranking ski resort in SKI magazines reader’s polls and many other ski publications. And now Park City is owned by Vail, has merged with the Canyons resort, and is now one giant ski resort. In fact, it is now the largest ski resort in North America. They have been connecting the two ski resorts into one, and have made numerous grades to the tune of $50 million.

With all the new hype focused on the resorts, it is bringing the opportunity for new real estate developments, specifically luxury ski-in, ski-out communities at Deer Valley and Park City’s Canyons Village. Below we are giving you a sneak-peek of a few new upcoming developments that most of the real estate community do not even know about yet.

Empire Pass has been one of the most sought after real estate location at Deer Valley resort due to its easy slopeside ski access and abundant views. One Empire Pass is due to launch sales this winter and is located on the parcel of land just to the north of the Silver Strike condo building. This new building will be a six floor lodge comprised of twenty-seven whole ownership condominiums. The layouts of these units will be unique in that they will be generously sized, and the floorplans will span the entire width of the building. This will ensure each residence will enjoy amazing views and direct sun looking up the mountain, and the twinkling city lights in the Park City valley below. To make these residences more private, each unit will have direct elevator access, eliminating the standard central hallways commonly found in large condo lodge buildings. The building will boast concrete framed construction with an abundance of windows and glass on the exterior allowing for much natural light. Planned are 2 Two Bedrooms, 12 Three Bedrooms and 13 Four Bedrooms. They are scheduled to launch reservation sales this December 2015.

There is also another new Deer Valley development due to possibly launch this winter in the Upper Deer Valley community of Silver Lake. Details are still being designed and worked on, so nothing to share just yet, but as the signed listing agents we have the inside track on this exciting new opportunity. Contact us direct and we’ll share info as soon as we are able to.

Canyons Village at Park City is the new name for the base village of what has been the Canyons Ski Resort. At the west end of the village is where the mountain begins to climb, just above the centrally located Sundial Lodge. Just above Sundial is the Vintage on The Strand development of luxury townhouse. Just above that is a new development that is due to launch sales this December 2015. This new development, named Apex, will be comprised of approximately 65 condos, including 5 bedroom penthouses, and 3 and 4 bedroom condos and townhomes. The architect is Think Architects, the same group who fully impressed everyone with the Stein Eriksen Residences in Deer Valley. With this mountainside location these properties will enjoy great views, overlooking the village below. Pricing is planned to start in the average of about $860 per SF for the initial 1st phase release, creating prices in the $1,600,000 to $3,000,000 range.

Things are quickly changing at Canyons Village and they are planning for this to possibly be the main hub for the new Park City ski resort. Also planned in the area is to finally re-align the lower base area Sunrise Chairlift and extend its service up to the Tombstone Chairlift. A long awaited upgrade to improve skier traffic up the mountain and heavily improves the location of Hyatt Escala Lodge, Sundial Lodge and the upcoming Apex development.
