With the Sundance Film Festival wrapping up, it’s time to for Park City to shift its focus back to winter sports. For over 20 years, Deer Valley Resort has proudly hosted the FIS Freestyle Ski World Cup, an exciting event that brings the top-ranked athletes to the slopes of Deer Valley. From February 6-8, watch in awe as international athletes take on aerial, mogul, and dual moguls competitions. Viewing areas can be found at the top of Deer Valley’s Burns and Snowflake lifts above Snow Park Lodge. The event is free and open to the public, so bundle up, grab a bite to eat beforehand, and experience world-class winter sports in the best snow on earth.

Deer Valley Resort is no stranger to hosting winter sport spectacles. It was the site of the 2019 World Championships, 17 previous World Cups, and in 2002, Deer Valley hosted multiple events during the Salt Lake City Winter Olympics. Influential athletes like Jonny Mosely, Mikael Kingsbury, and Brad Wilson have become champions on these slopes and moguls. There’s no better way to celebrate the Olympic legacy of Park City, Utah than by experiencing the excellence and excitement of the Ski World Cup.

Complement the adrenaline rush of the World Cup with a reservation at one of Deer Valley’s fine dining destinations. You’ll have to keep your energy up, so we recommend choosing one of these restaurants to kick off your night of excitement.

VIP Tent and E.B.S Lounge
Snow Park Lodge

Every year, there is an expansive tent just below all the action with a wonderful buffet and drinks. The EBS Lounge in Snow Park Lodge will also be open later than usual to serve cocktails and snacks to spectators. It’s a great place to head in to warm up! It will be open until 9:30 p.m. on Thursday and 10 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.

The Brass Tag
The Lodges at Deer Valley Resort

The Brass Tag is an ideal dinner destination that’s conveniently located just moments away from the World Cup competitions. Their exquisite menu features Deer Valley-inspired brick oven cuisine, such as sustainably sourced meat and seafood, local produce, customizable pizzettes, and delicious shareables to split with the family before venturing out to the slopes.

Seafood Buffet
Snow Park Lodge

A decadent dinner option is the Seafood Buffet at Snow Park Lodge. Experience an array of delicacies, including sashimi, poke, chilled shellfish, hot seafood entrees, prime rib, and plent of side dishes. If the menu isn’t convincing enough, make sure to explore the house-made dessert and fine wine options, too. In fact, we recommend viewing the desserts before starting your meal so you are reminded to leave a bit of room!

St. Regis

Ascend the infamous funicular to the St. Regis and take in the view. This leads to a delicious meal with more breathtaking vistas from the dining room. Relish some French comfort classics at Brasserie 7452, sip on a handcrafted cocktail at the St. Regis Bar & Lounge, or enjoy fresh seafood and prime cut steak at RIME.

As always, the parking and traffic can get a little intense for this event. We suggest taking the free public transit system instead of driving. Eat well, and enjoy the 2020 Ski World Cup!
