Park City's Historic Main Street will be the start and finish site for the challenging and final Stage 7 of the Tour of Utah on Sunday, August 10, featuring some of the steepest climbs and fastest descents in pro cycling.

For the fourth year in a row, Park City will be the site of the start and finish for the final stage of the prestigious Tour of Utah bike race.

The Tour of Utah is considered the longest professional cycling stage race in North America. This year’s race will cover 753.8 miles with 57,863 feet of vertical gain during the seven days of racing. Teams of 16 riders will be tested during this race.

The Race Goes Through at 12 Host Cities

The Tour starts in south Utah and will continue north through 12 host cities in Utah and Wyoming. Venues included in the Tour of Utah include Cedar City, Panguitch, Torrey, Lehi, Ogden, Powder Mountain, Evanston, Kamas, Salt Lake City, Snowbird, and of course, Park City.

This leg of the Tour, going through Summit County, will entail 78 miles through the eastern part of the county. After the start, riders will roll through Wolf Creek Ranches where racers will face a short, but punishing climb. The riders will then continue through Heber and Midway. The toughest part of race will be just outside Midway, which will take them to the finish line. The tough finale will be decided on the final King of the Mountain climb over Empire Pass and ending in downtown Park City. This leg of the race has become legendary due to its average gradient climb of 10 percent, with sections that can exceed 20 percent.

Park City Festivities for the Race

In addition to being a great spot to watch all the action, Historic Main Street will be turned into a festival site. You can come out to enjoy beer gardens, dining decks, video boards, kids’ activities, the Tour of Utah Expo and Autography Alley, and much more.
