Autumn Aloft Takes Flight in Park City

Fall is one of the most magical times of the year in Park City. The crowds have dwindled, and the town truly belongs to the locals again. A favorite event that kicks off the season is the Autumn Aloft Hot Air Balloon Festival, presented by Wells Fargo. It returns to Park City for the fifth year, September 15 to16. The event first launched in the former silver mining town more than 30 years ago and was recently resurrected as a way for visitors and residents of all ages to celebrate Park City and embrace autumn.

Spectators view up to 24 hot air balloons inflating and launching from locations throughout Park City. Park City residents and visitors often see hot air balloons from afar, but nothing compares to experiencing the magnitude of the aircraft until you are truly among them.

We love the glow of the Saturday night candlestick event on Main Street. It’s a family-friendly event, and a fun way to gather with other locals. We recommend taking advantage of the dining deals offered at one of the restaurants on Main Street and heading out afterward to enjoy the spectacle. And then rise and shine bright and early on Sunday to enjoy the final launch of the weekend! It’s an amazing sight to see the grandeur of the colorful balloons in the air with Park City’s magnificent mountain scenery and royal blue sky as the backdrop.
