Born and raised with strong midwest ethics in Chicago, Sean Matyja moved to the Wasatch Mountains of Utah in 1993 to pursue his dreams of competing as a professional snowboarder. With Brighton, Utah as his training grounds, he quickly gained notoriety as a progressive freestyle and all-mountain rider. Valued industry sponsorships afforded Sean to travel the west for competitions, and film & photography shoots. Sean has appeared in Transworld Snowboarding Magazine, Plow Snowboard Magazine, and numerous snowboard action films. Although the glory days are over, recently Sean was featured on the cover of Brighton Ski Resort's season pass brochure, and was a snowboard stunt double for "Turtle" on HBO's hit show Entourage. After "living the dream" Sean turned his ability of strong focus and dedication to his passion for art through marketing/design and quickly carved a strong niche in the rapidly growing Park City real estate market. Sean was soon recruited by Prudential Utah Real Estate for his innovative marketing skills and there he directed the promotion of many of Prudential’s most successful new construction developments. He has helped the brokerage with their company marketing, has helped many agents with their personal marketing, and has worked with over 40 new real estate developments – creating, modifying, and producing identity, branding, sales kits, signage, advertisements, etc.
Success breads success, and Sean grabbed an opportunity to move from marketing to sales. Again, capitalizing on his unique skills and dedication that made him a successful athlete, Sean quickly excelled in the promotion and selling of real estate in Park City. Recently Sean acquired his Associate Brokers license, and was recruited to Summit Sotheby's International Realty. Today, he is a trusted expert on Park City's Old Town, The Colony, and all ski-in, ski-out locations. Energetic, knowledgable, trustful, innovative, experienced and reliable would describe his work ethics.
Sean currently serves as the chairperson on the Park City Board of Realtors' Marketing Committee, and serves on the Park City Board of Realtors' Statistics Committee. When not working you can find Sean carving the bowls of the Park City skate park, biking our amazing mountain bike trails, going big at the motocross track in Salt Lake City, or continuing to push the limits of snowboarding at Park City Mountain Resorts terrain park and olympic super pipe.
