To be clear, there is a MLS system in Salt Lake City known as the WFR (Wasatch Front MLS) and a totally separate MLS system in Park City known as the PCMLS (Park City MLS). So how can a real estate agent from Salt Lake City, who is not even a member of the Park City MLS know what pricing should be on a home or condo? Without living or working in this community how can they know about important issues such as the Historic Preservation District, Park City Soils Ordinance and boundary, radon concerns, ski-in, and ski-out access, ski run and chairlift easements, future development, open space, condo and neighborhood HOA's, impact or value of community events, school districts or municipal assesments?
The answer is they cannot be aware of these issues. Many of these agents simply don't know what is going on here in Park City, and do not know where to begin. Furthermore, many just do not know the right questions to ask on behalf of their clients. If you want to buy a home in LA would you use a Vegas Realtor, no. So if you are buying a home in Park City, you should not use a real estate agent from Salt Lake City.
