The Golden Rule

Treating others as you want to be treated, this is the golden rule we have all grown up trying to follow. Park City Vacation Rental Properties owner/founder Jim Bizily has taken this rule into business and it seems to be working rather well for him. Park City Vacation Properties was just voted Park City's best for the third consecutive year. This week I had the pleasure of talking with him about how he and his team strive to provide the best in property management and so much more.

What inspired you to start Park City Vacation Rentals?
Many years ago I ran a lasik surgical center in San Diego. I could never find a good quality property management company. So I decided to create one from the vantage point of the property owner, and run it…

To say the locals of Park City came through on Friday's Live PC Give PC event, would be an understatement. The Live PC Give PC event, which is put on by the Park City Community Foundation was a HUGE success!!

Not only was one incredible party thrown at High West Friday evening, but hundreds of Park City locals came to celebrate and continued to donate. At the end of a very long day, the Live PC Give PC 2017 goal of reaching $1,999,999 was exceeded with an astounding $2,026,917 total!! 107 non-profits participated, over 30 sponsors and a total of 4,123 donors. Once again the Park City community came together and was an example of what amazing feats can be accomplished when we work together.

And there is still time to give, check out their website here for…

Thanksgiving is only weeks away, and most of us will be lucky enough to be spending the holiday's with our loved ones enjoying the delicious foods that come with the holiday's. But not everyone is as fortunate.

In the state of Utah, 1 in 7 children go to bed hungry every night. Last year the Park City Board of Realtors, with the help of the community, provided 2,300 turkeys to those in need – this year the goal is 2,500.

Park City's food pantry on Munchkin Road provides food to 60 Park City families per day. They provide items such as canned goods, dried foods, as well as bakery products, milk and produce. This year the food pantry has a list of 850 families in need of a Thanksgiving bird. Help the Park City Board of Realtors give hunger the bird, and

A passion for skiing

Imagine your best friend owning a top of the line ski shop, and all your friends work there, and they are the very best at what they do. This is exactly what you will find at Jackson's Basecamp. This week I got the chance to hang out and chat with Jackson and his crew at Jackson's Basecamp, which has been completely remodeled and reVAMPED!! Jackson and his team (entirely all Parkites) just finished revamping the entire store, even making new fixture's by hand from recycled local products. They even used fallen aspen trees as racks for the helmets. Every inch of Jackson's Basecamp is pure GENUIS.

What inspired you to open Jackson's Basecamp?
I have always had a passion for skiing. While other kids were playing fireman and astronaut,…

GOURMET ON THE GO

The historic Imperial House at the top of Main was impeccably renovated last year and is now home to Riverhorse Provisions. Riverhorse on Main's co-owner Seth Adams is responsible for the revival of this historic land mark. However chef Mark Peterson has taken RHP on as his baby, and transformed the Imperial House into a gourmet cafe/market, truly unique to Park City. Recently I got to sit with Mark and talk about how RHP is one of the best of places to Enjoy Park City.

How long has RHP been open?
Almost a year, we opened last December. And we had quite an eventful month. Upstairs in the market shortly after the new wood shelves had been stained the rags used spontaneously combusted inside a garbage can starting a fire in the middle…

With the holiday season quickly approaching, we all hopefully begin to get into that generous giving spirit. And start thinking of ways to give back to the community we love. Live PC Give PC gives us that chance. It’s one extraordinary day to celebrate our collective spirit of giving, and to support the organizations that make Park City so incredibly special.

So many of us are fortunate enough to live and work in this beautiful place, and be part of a community that truly looks out for one another. However on the other side of our thriving resort/service community is those who need community support for housing, healthcare, day care, and that is just naming a few of the many, many non-profit organizations that will benefit from this one event.

The Park…
